At Modern Web Solutions, we believe the web should be usable and accessible for everyone. That’s why we’ve created a growing suite of open-source accessibility tools designed to help developers, designers, and business owners build websites that meet today’s standards for inclusivity, usability, and compliance.

Our tools are simple, lightweight, and effective—built with real-world challenges in mind. Whether you’re checking readability, testing colour contrast, or streamlining compliance checks, MWS Tools make it easier to identify and resolve accessibility issues before they become barriers.

MWScanner

MWScanner is a lightweight accessibility and readability scanner built to give website owners and developers immediate feedback on how usable their sites are. With just a quick click, it overlays a simple panel on any page and highlights potential accessibility issues, readability concerns, and excess formatting that could impact the user experience. Much like established tools such as Sa11y, MWScanner helps ensure content is accessible and clear for all visitors, but with the added benefit of being tailored for modern workflows and easy adoption by teams who want fast, practical insights without heavy setup.

Note: Bookmarklets do not work on all websites because of security policies that block external code. It may take a few seconds to load because the code is being injected into the page you are browsing.

MWContrast

The MWS Color Contrast Tool is designed to help ensure digital content meets accessibility standards by evaluating the readability of text against its background. It automatically scans web pages and highlights areas where the contrast ratio does not meet WCAG guidelines, giving developers, designers, and content creators an immediate snapshot of potential accessibility issues. By focusing specifically on color contrast, the tool addresses one of the most common barriers to inclusivity on websites and web applications.
